How long have you been playing pickleball?

I have been playing pickleball since 2005, but more actively and competitively for 2 years.

How many times per week do you play pickleball (on average)?

2-3

Pickleball Medals/awards/accomplishments (whatever this means to you!)

I am really proud of myself for consistently staying on the top courts in the APC intermediate league. I also medaled with Mallory Nimis in the summer Pride tourney at Austin Tennis Center, and that was an exciting experience (despite it been 100+ degrees outside).

What do you love about pickleball / Why do you play?

community, ability to be active, fun people (some of the best people in Austin!).

What is your favorite pickleball shot and why?

I love a good two-handed backhand shot.

What is your biggest strength on the court and why?

My biggest strength is probably communication; I like to believe I am a good communicator with my partners, and that includes making sure people feel good on the court, and supported!

What part of your game are you currently working on?

I am currently working on my patience! I get really excited during a good dinking session and need to slow down a bit and let the point play out.

What courts do you like to play at most?

Austin Tennis Center

Any great pickleball experience/story that you'd like to share?

Pickleball is everywhere! This past summer I was in Vermont, and found a super fun group (of strangers) to play with, and in some competitive matches. It was a beautiful backdrop, and just shows that pickleball allows you to connect in with people in really easy ways!

What do you like to do when you are not on the court playing pickleball?

I love to read and write (life of a professor!), and also enjoy eating out with people at different restaurants around town.
